'Release the Kraken' at Subtext Gallery

Release the Kraken!
A Group Exhibition Featuring Vintage Aquatic Paintings Re-Imagined by over 30 Artists
August 12th September 11th
SUBTEXT GALLERY

Opening night was Kraken at Subtext with a crowd of 300+ that came out to show their support and celebrate Subtex s 5th birthday. And live music from The Makeup Sex and tasty bites from MIHO Gastrotruck made the show that much better.

About the Show: What s the best way to celebrate Subtext s 5th anniversary? Krakens, of course! For this epic show, we ve been hunting down vintage aquatic-themed paintings for over a year now, and we ve found some gems from all over the country. Each artist was given a painting with a body of water in it, and then asked to Kraken-ize it by adding some sea monsters, hydro-creatures or aquatic beasts of their liking. The result will be nothing short of awesome.

Check out the other awesome work and photos from the opening HERE.

Here is my Canvas:
Acrylic and Spraypaint on vintage oil painting
2'hx3'w-$OLD

I was also given the opportunity to paint a Kraken on a 8'hx14'w wallpaper landscape! It was a daunting task but I'm completely satisfied with the outcome.
It is also for sale at the Gallery.
